Minimum Requirements

• Educational qualifications are an ABET certificate or a relevant certification.
• Experience: Previous laboratory cleaning experience will be beneficial.
• Knowledge:
• Basic knowledge of cleaning principles.
• Basic knowledge of chemical use e.g., mixing/dilution.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment used.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Knowledge of record keeping.
• Good communication and interpersonal relations.
• Basic knowledge and practice of laboratory safety procedures.
• A basic knowledge of the safe use and application of chemicals.

Duties

• Clean the laboratory and apparatus.
• Dispose of all laboratory waste according to procedures.
• Disconnect and reconnect gas cylinders.
• Follow the instructions for cleaning glass and plasticware.
• Complete the necessary paperwork in order to provide traceability of laboratory activity.
• Stocktaking of cleaning materials.
• He is procuring cleaning materials as and when necessary.
• Emptying waste baskets.
• Prepare boardrooms for meetings.
• Arrange crockery, utensils, and cutlery for use during meetings.
• Clean storerooms, kitchens, offices, corridors, boardrooms, and any other area that is assigned for cleaning.
• Wash and keep stock of crockery, utensils, and cutlery.
• Fill and refill drinking water containers.
• Clean washrooms.
• Refill hand wash liquid and toilet papers.
• Report faulty machines and equipment.
