Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Graphic Designer to join the creative team. The Graphic Designer role is responsible for the co-ordination of studio activities and internal design projects from concept to delivery. This will include ensuring that the company CI is maintained and applied, creating original artwork according to business needs across instore campaigns / digital campaigns and internal stakeholder projects. As the senior designer in the studio, this role is also responsible for assisting and guiding the junior designers in creating and reviewing artwork as briefed.

Qualifications

Grade 12 Certificate/Matric

Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in graphic design or similar field

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Minimum 7 years’ experience in a graphic design role.

Min 3 years in a senior studio role – either agency or in-house design team.

Ability to work across various design programmes

Knowledge of printing processes

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Hands-on, self-motivated, and naturally organized

Strong time-management skills and profound respect for deadlines.

Great attention to detail.

A creative and strategic problem solver.

Proactive, task-driven, and positive attitude.

Team player, willing to collaborate in a cross-functional team.

Understanding of marketing, production, corporate identity, advertisements, and multiple design.

Ability to give and receive constructive criticism.

Proficiency in the following desktop publishing tools: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and CorelDraw.

Responsibilities

Ensure design trends/ customer trends are understood and included within concepts / options created.

Creation of campaign elements across all necessary mediums

Represent and work with creative agencies to integrate design criteria and principles for consistent brand experience

Ensure creative for brand execution and in store / digital / stakeholder execution is aligned and consistent.

Design and creation of concepts for internal campaigns, as needed, by the business (HR/Finance/Projects)

Application and management of corporate CI into the greater Pepkor group as requested by group marketing/design requirements

Responsible for corporate CI implementation and rollout within the company and group brands to ensure integrity and brand rules are maintained.

Responsibility for supplier brand CI and execution of supplier brands within the Tekkie Town / Group

Review of the work of a junior design team to ensure that briefing is met, and designs are compliant and relevant.

Manage studio output for future reference.

Administration of key campaign designs for future reference
