Job Description
The Shop Assistant will be responsible for offering top-notch customer service, assisting merchandising and inventory management, and maintaining a clean and tidy sales floor. Your role is to create a welcoming atmosphere for customers while maintaining high levels of operation and product knowledge at all times.
Chief Responsibilities Include:
- Welcoming customers with a friendly and professional attitude
- Assisting customers with product choice, buying, and returns
- Restocking shelves and having products displayed neatly
- Supporting stock takes and counting inventory
- Keeping the sales floor tidy, neat, and customer-hazard free
- Processing transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems
- Answering customer inquiries and complaint resolution effectively
- Adhering to all company policy, procedures, and retail protocols

Minimum Requirements:
- Matric certificate or equivalent qualification
- A minimum of 6 months retail experience (non-negotiable)

- Self-motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic individual
- Will be required to be punctual, reliable, and detail-conscious
Role Responsibility
You will have a pivotal role in delivering day-to-day retail excellence as a 30-hour Shop Assistant. Your primary responsibility is to provide fantastic customer service while ensuring operational effectiveness on the shop floor.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting product knowledge and promotional programs
- Keeping the store looking its best through daily maintenance and merchandising
- Collaborating with team members to meet daily objectives and store objectives
- Upselling and cross-selling merchandise when relevant
- Providing product alternatives and recommendations to satisfy customer demand
- Supporting management with ad hoc duties as needed
