✅ Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- An ABET certificate
- Basic knowledge of cleaning principles
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, including dilution and mixing
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment
- Basic understanding of health and safety rules
- Basic record-keeping knowledge
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Previous cleaning experience is an advantage.
Preference will be given to applicants residing within the Nelson Mandela District.
🧹 What Will You Do?
The successful applicants will assist with keeping government offices and facilities clean and safe.
Duties include:
- Cleaning offices, corridors, boardrooms and kitchens
- Sweeping, scrubbing, vacuuming and shampooing floors
- Cleaning windows, walls and doors
- Cleaning restrooms
- Emptying and cleaning waste bins
- Replacing toilet paper and paper towels
- Refilling liquid soap
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment
- Managing cleaning materials and supplies
- Reporting damaged or faulty equipment
- Performing other cleaning-related duties when required
💰 What Does the Job Offer?
The position comes with a salary of R144,024 per annum and provides an opportunity to gain experience in cleaning, facilities support, workplace safety and working within a government department.
